The Robert Gordon Universty Aikido club was opened in 2007 by Atholl Buchan, an instructor at the Aberdeen BHAY Club. The club is a part of the Aberdeen Banyu Hatten Aikido Yuishinkai Club and regularly shares practices with both the University of Aberdeen Aikido Club and the main Aberdeen Club itself.
